Oli France's Expedition Highlights
For more than a decade, Oli has traveled through deserts, jungles, mountains, and war-torn areas – experiencing challenges that few have dared to undertake. See an overview of current and past expeditions below
Exploring the World's Most Challenging Terrain
For over a decade, Oli’s adventures have taken him through deserts, jungles, mountains, and war-torn regions across more than 75 countries. He had faced spies, interrogators, minefields and arrest, along with avalanches, earthquakes, meningitis and severe dehydration, all while attempting to complete challenging journeys in remote corners of the world, alone or while leading a team of several members.
Oli is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and qualified Winter Mountain Leader with a degree in Outdoor Leadership (BA).
Oli’s expedition highlights include:
A solo winter 8000-mile journey across the mountainous spine of Asia from Hong Kong to Istanbul.
Climbed the highest mountain in Iraq, Mont Blanc, Nyiragongo and other notable peaks across 35 countries and 4 continents.
A solo winter 400-mile crossing of Lake Baikal, Siberia, while hauling a 60kg sled and covering a marathon a day.
Completed an entirely human powered journey from the lowest point in Africa to the highest (Lac Assal, Djibouti, to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania), a 1,636 mile bike journey through four countries, followed by a successful Kilimanjaro climb, while guiding a group. This was the first stage of Oli’s The Ultimate Seven Project.
His aim to journey from the lowest point in each continent to the highest entirely by human power.
Personally guided hundreds of clients through 30+ countries, with a wide range of travellers from dozens of countries, including industry-leading business figures, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, former CIA officers, terminal cancer patients and young people embarking on their very first adventure.
